Council a Victim of its Own Success in Pay-by-Weight Scheme

“The extra-ordinary success of the pay- by- weight scheme introduced by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council last year has resulted in a dramatic fall in receipts from waste collection putting in jeopardy the 2005 budget projections of the Council.” This was stated by Local Councillor Eugene Regan (FG), chairman of the Council’s Audit committee, who had raised the issue at the last meeting of the Council.
