“The concerns among business and resident groups in Dun Laoghaire are understandable but mis-informed. It is not the Council’s intention to clamp once-off parking offenders or someone who overstays on a metered space. REDESIGN OF BLACKROCK PARK

“Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is to spend up to €2 million on the redesign of Blackrock Park and the green spaces at Williamstown and Booterstown.” This was stated by Cllr. Eugene Regan (FG), Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, who tabled a motion last year calling for this redesign work to be undertaken by the Council.

Minister fails to implement audit system for local authorities

“The Minister for the Environment Dick Roche TD has failed to implement a legislation announced by him last December establishing audit committees to scrutinise local Government expenditure.” This was stated by Cllr. Eugene Regan (FG), Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Chairman of the Council’s Audit Committees, expressing his disappointment at the Minster’s failure to implement section 5 of the Local Government (Business Improvement District) Act of 2006.
